8 Shows Like Farscape You Love to Watch

If you have watched the Farscape series, you will know the excellent plot the makers added to this sci-fi series. And, now, if you are still looking to watch the Farscape alike series, go with the below-mentioned list of the series.

About Farscape:

Farscape is one of the Australian-American sci-fi-based series created by Rockne S. O’Bannon and produced by Hallmark Entertainment and The Jim Henson Company. Also, the show’s creators, at the start of the series, already shared that the series Farscape is of 5 seasons, but suddenly, they announced the show’s cancelation after releasing season 4.

Now, the complete plot of Farscape was about the Earth astronaut John Crichton who mistakenly got stuck in an unknown part of the Milky Way galaxy from the wormhole.

And as the series progresses, John finds himself in the center of a living alien spaceship, Moya, which the aliens use as a prison. Now, as soon as John knows about the thing, he tries to escape from that place, and much more is added to this plot.

Also, even after so many years of the Farscape series, many people still wanted to watch this super sci-fi-based series. Therefore, here we also have a few platforms from which you can easily manage the entire series: Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Videos.

  • The Expanse:

The Expanse is again a sci-fi American drama series based on a novel under the same name, which James S.A. Corey wrote, developed by Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus. It mainly focuses on a future era in which humans finally take possession of the solar system.

Not only that, but it also focuses on UNSC member Chrisjen Avasarala, Ship officer James Holden, Police Detective Josephus Miller, and a few more who are supporting the team in finding more conspiracy theories; and also to discovered new alien technologies.

The similarities here we find between The Farscape and The Expanse is that they hold entirely up on an astonishing resemblance.

  • Killjoys:

Killjoys is one of the super space adventure series created by Michelle Lovretta and successfully runs for five excellent seasons; each has ten episodes. Also, here we find few connections between the Killjoys and the Farscape because the Killjoys mainly focus on space adventures, whereas the Farscape focuses on the overall sci-fi part of the Earth.

So, Killjoys mainly focuses on three characters, John, Dutch and Da’vin, who work as a bounty hunter. This trio first works with the RAC under the project of the four planet-and-moon system, also known as the Quad. Now, as the series progresses, the trio here is given another responsibility to take care of all the other groups who are with them in this project.

On the other side, the RAC also told them if anything happens, then we are not responsible for them, and you too have a no right to blame to our system or government in case of mission fails.

Thus, we show here that this trio must have to do a lot of struggle just to save their own and the other group’s lives.

  • Dark Matter:

Dark Matter is a Space Opera drama series, initially based on a comic book of the same name, written and created by Paul Mullie and Joseph Mallozzi. The plot of Dark Matter focuses on a group of people who find themselves in a stasis moment, in which they forget everything about their past, even though they are unaware of their names.

Thus, firstly they gave each other a number as a name, so there were six members, and everyone was assigned the numbers one, two, three,… six.

Then, as the series progresses, they all start discovering what happens to them and why they do not remember anything about their past moments. Also, they all embarked on a female-looking android with a wireless neutral link with the ships.

  • Battlestar Galactica:

Battlestar Galactica was a 2004s Military sci-fi-based series, initially created by Battlestar Galactica 1978s series created by Glen A. Larson; and developed by Ronald D. Moore. The plot of Battlestar Galactica is all covered in a bit different solar system, where a human being lives in a group of planets named Twelve Colonies of Kobol.

Also, this colony was the same one that earlier conflicted with the android race. Now, here we talk about the similarities between Farscape and Battlestar Galactica; and see that in both series, they want to explore some unknown galaxies and conspiracy theories.

  • Andromeda:

Andromeda is one of the Space operas created by Gene Roddenberry and developed by Robert Hewitt Wolfe. Andromeda is based on a distant star system known as Tarn-Vedra, mainly surrounded by humanity. Also, as its process is ahead, we see that the commonwealth here conflicts with that of the Magog, similar to the creature of the bat.

Also, the similarities here we find between Farscape and Andromeda are that they try to explore some distinct alien species and many unknown planets.

  • Babylon 5:

Babylon 5 is again a super Space Opera drama series created by J. Michael Straczynski. It starts with a human military group and the alien diplomat’s station named Babylon 5, which mainly build up after seeing the effects of a few significant inter-species connections. Also, the central part of the series focuses on the inter-species, inter-race wars, and the after-effect of the same.

Likewise, the Farscape series, Babylon 5, focuses on Kinship and how they deeply connect the viewer’s attention with the other galaxies.

  • Stargate SG-1:

Stargate SG-1 is again a military sci-fi-based series Jonathan Glassner, and Brad Wright created. But initially, the Stargate SG-1 is the spin-off part of the Stargate film, which was released in 1994. It is one of my favorite series because it covers one of the exciting topics: discovering a Stargate, a type of aliens devices. Once the one device was caught, they all found similar connections in many places around the planet.

So, here we have seen the similarities between Farscape and Stargate SG-1 that the creators wanted to add some unique and exciting plot that grabs the attention of their viewers.

  • Firefly:

Firefly is another American Space Western drama series created by Joss Whedon. The series has covered here the plot of 2517s, in which the human set up a new star system, and also about a Firefly-class spaceship that suddenly escaped from the place.

Also, just like the above series, here, too, we find the exact similarities between Farscape and Firefly, is in the way they focus on Aliens and the hidden histories they cover.

Final words:

The series and films mentioned above in this article are all about sci-fi and adventure, which the viewers enjoy.
