8 Shows Like Kohrra You Love to Watch

We are all fond of watching crime thrillers, mysterious-based series, and films, right guys? And, if the series is like Kohrra, it automatically doubles the viewers’ excitement. 

So, here in this article, we’d like to share the list of Kohrra series, which the viewers love to watch. But before that, we would first like to highlight the Kohrra series; then, we will move forward with another similar series. 

About Kohrra:

Kohrra is one of the newly released Indian Punjabi crime thriller series that premiered on Netflix, created and written by Sudip Sharma, along with the two other writers Diggi Sisodia and Gunjit Chopra, and directed by Randeep Jha. 

Kohrra, all starts with a murder investigation of an ex-pat who returns to his hometown for his wedding, but just before the day of his marriage, he gets killed by some mysterious man.

Afterward, the police group sent two police officers to conduct a complete investigation of the case. Still, as they started doing the research, they both found that they are too getting trapped by the killers. 

  • The Sinner:

The Sinner was a crime drama series initially based on a novel under the same name, written by Petra Hammesfahr and developed by Derek Simonds. Like the Kohrra series, The Sinner also added a lot of mysterious turns and twists in every season of The Sinner series.

Mainly, The Sinner starts with its lead star, Detective Harry Ambrose, who has the task of making an investigation of many brutal murder cases. As he prepares to begin his research, he meets with unbelievable objects the killers left after murdering the people. 

Also, The Spinner was a four-season series; and the creators here added completely new murder stories in every new season, which creates more excitement in the viewer’s mind.

  • Dahaad:

Dahaad, also known as Roar, is another recently released Hindi language Crime plus thriller web series created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti; and directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi. The series earned good ratings stars; a few more seasons will be released soon only on the Amazon Prime streaming platform.

Dahaad is all shot in a tiny town in Rajasthan, and it starts with a sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati, who is a bit shocked after hearing the disappearance news of 27 women one after another. And, therefore Anjali later decides to do a deep investigation into the case.

The similarities here we find about the Kohrra and the Dahaad are that both include the cop’s investigations, suspense, and mysteries. 

  • The Killing:

Just like the series mentioned above, The Killing was also a police procedural crime drama series that successfully ran from 2011 to 2014. But, the thing is, it is initially based on a 2007s film Forbrydelsen which was created by Soren Sveistrup and developed by Veena Sud.

So, here The Killing is mainly starting with a murder investigation of one of the 17-year-old girls named Rosie Larsen, whose body is found in a Submerged car. Later, the complete analysis of Rosie’s murder was handled by Sarah Linden and Stephen Holder, both homicide detectives.

Also, as the series progresses, we see here somewhere the cruel reality of politics and the limitless killer mind of human beings. 

  • Mare of Easttown:

Mare of Easttown is another super crime drama series, just like the Kohrra; it is also about the cop who suffers a lot to solve the case, even handling some personal problems too while solving the case.

Mare of Easttown was created and written by Brad Ingelsby and directed by Craig Zobel. Mare of Easttown starts with a police detective named Mare who has taken a new case on hand, and that too about the murder mystery of a teenage mother. 

Not only that, but Mare is also having many personal problems, like divorce issues, her son’s suicide cases, and much more. Even the local people are not helping her because they all think Mare cannot solve any cases. So, in this series, you guys get a chance to watch the personal and professional challenges that Mare handles. 

  • Duranga:

Duranga is another Crime thriller series inspired by Flower of Evil, created by Goldie Behl, and written by Charudutt Acharya. Duranga is all about a Sammit, who lives with a family and an everyday life, but still hides many things from their family members; maybe his professionalism was not what he had said to their family. 

As the series progresses, Sammit’s wife, Ira, starts investigating a murder case, and as she moves in depth in every case, many mysterious things are opened up. 

Thus, like the Kohraa, Duranga’s was full of secrets and suspenseful moments. 

  • CAT:

CAT is again an Indian Punjabi crime thriller series created and directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua and two more directors, Jimmy Singh, and Rupinder Chahal, premiered on a Netflix streaming platform. CAT mainly covers the plot of a Gurnam, also known as Gary, a CAT officer, that provides some hidden information about the drugs and more to the police officers. 

But, later, Gurnam suddenly finds some clues against both police officers for whom Gurnam works and comes to know that they both combinedly murdered Gurnam’s parents; and suddenly, the series takes a new turn.

Also, Gurnam now finds ways to take revenge against those who killed his parents. 

  • Pataal Lok:

Pataal Lok is again a crime drama series that was initially taken from the novel The Story of My Assassins, written by Tarun Tejpal. Pataal Lok was created by Sudip Sharma, written by Sudip Sharma along with Hardik Mehta, Gunjit Chopra, and Sagar Haveli, and directed by Prosit Roy and Avinash Arun.

Pataal Lok starts entirely with Hathiram Chaudhray, a pessimistic cop who is now responsible for solving one high-profile case. But, as he is out for the investigation, he catches up with some of the gangsters, and they take the Hathiram to another place. On the other hand, the Patal lok is based on Svarga, Paatal, and Dharti concepts.

  • Under the Banner of Heaven:

Under the Banner of Heaven is another true crime-based miniseries Dustin Lance Black created. It was initially based on a non-fictional book under the same name, written by Jon Krakauer. 

The plot of this miniseries is quite interesting, as it reveals many unbelievable mysteries. So, it all starts with Detective Jeb Pyre, who has the order to investigate a case of murder of Saint Mother and her daughter, which later looks like involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The series we mentioned above in this article is primarily about crime drama plus the police-produced real ones, and out of which many were yet releasing the new seasons too, by adding more mysterious storylines.
