8 Movies Like Barbie You Love to Watch
Barbie is a new release that is breaking records and gaining tons of attention. Because of this, we are going to give you a list of movies that you will enjoy if you love Barbie.
About Barbie:

Barbie is a new record-breaking American fantasy comedy movie. After its release, Barbie smashed many records. The film is based on the doll of the same name, manufactured by Mattel, Inc. It is one of my favorite movies because I absolutely adored the creativity and plot the directors added.
The movie has two lead characters. Margot Robbie plays Barbie, and Ryan Gosling plays Ken. They both want to learn about the real world and the people who live in it.
One day, Barbie and Ken go to the real world, but they soon realize they face many challenges because they don’t know how people live there.
The Barbie movie also gets a lot of positive reviews because of its lead characters’ exceptional performances and its great management of plotlines.
1. Amelie:

Amelie is an extremely entertaining French film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Amelie is a masterpiece by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Like Barbie, the producers of Amelie attempt to give the lead character and the plot a slightly different look. The Amelie story is a great, touching fan-favorite narrative.
It all begins with the touching Amelie Poulain plot. Amelie is a shy, quirky, and extremely introverted waitress who wants to change people’s lives and help them, even though her own life isn’t so good.
The audience loved her lead character and adored her performance.
2. Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaidia:

Let’s compare the Barbie movie list. Only a few Barbie movies are at the highest level, like Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaidia, which Walter P. M. Mattiussi and Will Lau directed. The perfect plot that the directors added to Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaidia was the main reason for its success.
Thus, Elina is the main character and a flower fairy who goes to Mermaidia to rescue her friend Nalu, a Merman prince. We also introduce Laverna, who at some point in the movie consumes some berries to gain more power.
As for the similarities we find between Barbie and Barbie Fairytopia, we have Mermaidia, which is the only new plot the movie producers added to give the audience a new perspective on Barbie.
3. The Wizard of Oz

The Barbie movie and The Wizard of Oz share many similarities, although their main plots are different. The Wizard of Oz was originally a fantasy novel called The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
The Wizard of Oz starts with Dorothy Gale getting transported to a different world. Later, Dorothy starts devising ways to get back to the world that is rightfully hers.
The only thing the audience notices as different about The Wizard of Oz and Barbie is that The Wizard of Oz begins in the real world and ends in a place where Dorothy belongs: the Barbie world.
4. La La Land:

Another American Romantic musical film, La La Land, was created and written by Damien Chazelle, produced by Gary Gilbert, Marc Platt, Fred Berger, and Jordan Horowitz. The film stars Emma Stone as Mia Dolan and Ryan Gosling as Sebastian/Seb Wilder.
In the film, Stone plays an actress, and Gosling plays a struggling pianist. However, as the story progresses, they meet and attain the same social standing.
After a few months together, they build a future in Los Angeles while falling in love. There are very few, if any, similarities between Barbie and La La Land.
5. Wreck-It Ralph:

Like Barbie, Wreck-It Ralph is a computer-animated comedy film directed by Rich Moore and produced by Clark Spencer. This film tries to capture viewers’ attention with its 101-minute runtime.
So, Wreck-It Ralph is about an arcade game character named Ralph, who is always cast in the role of the bad guy. As a result, Ralph decides that this time, he will try to be a good guy.
Because of this, Ralph decides that he will try to prove his good side by going on a quest to put himself in a good guy game. However, Ralph’s good-guy quest only complicates things further.
6. Clueless:

Again, Clueless is an American coming-of-age teen comedy film from 1995 written and directed by Amy Heckerling. Scott Rudin and Robert Lawrence produced the film. The story focuses on Alicia Silverstone’s character, Cher Horowitz, and a few other supporting characters.
At the beginning, the movie focuses on a beautiful, popular, wealthy high school student who wants to make new friends to create a fun, friendly group, and she eventually decides to do a makeover, as they all play the role of matchmakers for her teachers.
We can find a few similarities between Barbie and the film Clueless, and the audience enjoys watching Clueless.
7. Legally Blonde:

Just like the 2023 Barbie film, Legally Blonde is a live-action adaptation. It is a 2001 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Robert Luketic and produced by Ric Kidney and Marc Platt.
Legally Blonde’s lead, Elle, is incredibly beautiful and kind, with a heart of gold that earns her recognition despite being overlooked and underrated, and reveals hidden talents. After the breakdown of her relationship, Elle’s ex-boyfriend left her a few days prior, leaving her to attend Harvard Law School to pursue her studies in law.
Elle wants to mend her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, so she sets off on a mission to eliminate the obstacles and challenges that keep her from showing her intellectual side and proving herself.
8. Enchanted:

Enchanted is a live-action drama film directed by Kevin Lima, written by Bill Kelly, and produced by Barry Sonnenfeld and Barry Josephson. Like Barbie, Enchanted blends its fairy-tale fantasy story with the real world, where Giselle takes on many new adventures.
Like Barbie, Giselle’s performance in Enchanted also covers the three dimensions of her character.
Final Words:
After Barbie’s audiences were eager to see movies like this, we hope we fulfilled your wish list a little by sharing films that resemble Barbie.
We hope you all will find these movies as fantastical and as amusing as we do.
