8 Movies Like Supercell You Love to Watch

With Supercell’s plot centered on climate change, we all know the relevance of each disaster-themed movie, series, and the synopses that follow. After you read the summaries of these eight movies, you will want to watch them, even if they are older.

Supercell is one of the more recent American releases, directed by Herbert James Winterstern, and produced by Ryan Donnell Smith, Nathan Klinger, Allen Cheney, and Ryan Winterstern. The series is an action-disaster film that begins with a boy named William, who wants to live the heritage life his parents left him. As he begins to live the heritage life, it provides many challenges for him to manage.

As the series continues, we show how William has taken on the new task of guiding an unconscious adventurers group, and many other things are related to the series. In A Nutshell mostly focuses on the heartwarming relationship between a father and a son, and in the process reveals the traumatic effect of a sudden disaster that a person has to face.

1. The Perfect Storm:

The Perfect Storm is a 2000 biographical disaster drama film directed by Wolfgang Petersen and produced by Paula Weinstein and Gail Katz, among others. It is based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Sebastian Junger.

The film tells the story of the loss of the commercial fishing vessel Andrea Gail in the 1991 Perfect Storm. It tells a story of both the disaster and the suffering everyone has to endure.

What we see in both Supercell and The Perfect Storm is unexpected weather changes that become a survival scenario for everyone who has to go through it.

2. 2012:

We all know about the 2012 series, right? Even if you have not watched it, many of you must have heard of it. 2012 is a 2009 science fiction disaster film written and directed by Roland Emmerich and Harald Kloser, and produced by Mark Gordon, Harald Kloser, and Larry J. Franco.

The film is based on a Phenomenon in which the filmmakers depicted all the disasters that will happen on Earth, including earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Like in 2012, the creators of Supercell also tried to showcase the challenges of less prominent cast members who are still trying to break out of their situations.

3. San Andreas:

Supercell’s 2015 American disaster movie, San Andreas, stars Dwayne Johnson in the lead. Brad Peyton directed it, and Beau Flynn produced it.

San Andreas focuses on a major fault in the Earth’s crust that causes a massive earthquake along the western coast of the United States. While the rest of the people on the western coast of the U.S. protect themselves from the quake, Dwayne Johnson (a member of a rescue squad) goes to the site of the quake along with his ex-wife to rescue their daughter.

Supercell and San Andreas show that the filmmakers focus on saving their loved ones from huge disasters.

4. Dante’s Peak:

Directed by Roger Donaldson, written by Leslie Bohem, and produced by Joseph Singer and Gale Anne Hurd, Dante’s Peak is a super-disaster movie. The movie follows a fictional town where a volcanic eruption occurs, and its residents find other ways to save themselves. Dante’s Peak, like Supercell, focuses on sudden natural disasters and their impact on people.

5. The Day After Tomorrow:

The Day After Tomorrow was the sixth highest-grossing film of 200, and a major sci-fi disaster movie. Roland Emmerich and Mark Gordon directed and produced the film, which was based on the book The Coming Global Superstorm, written by Art Bell and Whitley Strieber.

The Day After Tomorrow’s plot focuses on a new ice age and climate change in the North Atlantic Ocean. In Supercell and The Day After Tomorrow, we see the main character face a natural disaster and overcome it.

6. Geostorm:

Geostorm is a 2017 sci-fi disaster movie directed and written by Dean Devlin, and produced by Dana Goldberg, David Ellison, and Dean Devlin.

Geostorm follows a team of satellite designers who try to stop a catastrophic event caused by climate-controlling satellites that have gone rogue and are now orbiting Earth.

Also, the supercell and Geostorm are disasters caused by human interference.

7. Into the Storm:

Into the Storm is a cinematic disaster film of 2014, directed by Steven Quale, written by John Swetnam, and produced by Todd Garner.

Into the Storm follows predicted weather events in a fictional town in Oklahoma: Silverton. The movie condenses these predicted events into a series of tornadoes occurring over a few hours.

Both Supercell and Into the Storm show gruesome disaster events and how the main characters fight back against them. Furthermore, the films show the choices the characters make in the face of certain death while fighting these disasters.

8. Twister:

Twister is a 1996 American epic disaster film directed by Jan de Bont and written by Anne-Marie Martin and Michael Crichton, with Kathleen Kennedy and Michael Crichton producing.

The plot focuses on the three main characters, Bill Harding, Jo, and Melissa, as they give up conventional employment to pursue a career as storm chasers to study tornadoes in Oklahoma.

Additionally, the only similarity between Supercell and Twister is how the filmmakers portray the most extreme natural disasters; however, they show how the characters deal with the same event.

Final Words:

As mentioned, the eight films are our warnings to save and protect our Earth from pollution, as if we cannot do the same. There is a risk of escalating the natural horrible disasters. And if you are a Supercell film or 2012 film fan, you can also go with the films named above; we will make sure you all love watching them.
