Golden Globe Award winner and veteran American actress Barbara Rush died at 97 on March 31, 2024, in Los Angeles. Her daughter breaks the news about Rush’s death. While mentioning her mother’s death, she added that ‘My mother passed away peacefully and left the world on Easter.’ She further said that, From now on, Easter will hold more significance for her. 

Barbara Rush was born on January 4, 1927, and her father used to work as a lawyer for a mining company. Rush spent her childhood in Santa Barbara, California, and graduated from the University of California in 1948. 

Throughout her professional entertainment career, Barbara has given some of the most highly entertaining films and television series, including Twigs, Same Time, Next Year, the Voice of The Turtle, The Outer Limits, Cannon, and The Love Boat. However, the actresses used to perform at the Lobero Theatre and Pasadena Playhouse before joining Paramount Pictures. 

In 1950, Rush married Jeffrey Hunter, but unfortunately, the couple separated ways and got a divorce in 1955. Later, she married Warren Cowan, an American publicist, in 1959, but they divorced in 1969. Barbara Rush’s relations remained full of ups and downs, and she had two children, Christopher Hunter and Claudia Cowan.

Over the years, many actors, actresses, filmmakers, and audiences have praised Rush’s contribution to the music industry. For instance, Rush was honored with a Golden Globe Award in 1954 for being the most promising newcomer in 1953’s released It Came From Outer Space.  

Rush’s seven decades-long career has delivered hundreds of movies, television content, and theater plays, significantly building up her career. Films like The Young Lions, Blow Your Horn, Robin, and The Seven Hoods. Not only that, but the actress has also offered her presence as a TV guest for several excellent television shows. 

Even when Barbara was in her 90s, she still managed to showcase her art and talent. Even in an interview, Rush said she is one of those people who will perform the minute you open the refrigerator door, and the light goes on.
