The biggest changes are in the premium formats. Only the IMAX and Disney’s Infinity Vision showings include about four minutes of new footage not seen in standard theatrical releases. At CineEurope, Disney revealed that the Infinity Vision program has received over 7,500 applications from cinemas seeking certification. The studio is now reviewing those locations ahead of the Sept. 25 release.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have also urged fans to watch the Encore version before Avengers: Doomsday releases in December.

“There is a very strong link between Endgame and Doomsday,” the Russo brothers said. “And if you go see the movie in theaters, you’re going to see some new footage that shows that connection for you.”

This confirms the exclusive footage has a specific narrative purpose beyond expansion, creating plot connections that will matter when the sequel arrives later this year.

The standard and IMAX versions of Avengers: Endgame: Encore run for 183 minutes and 3 seconds (3 hours, 5 minutes), according to the British Board of Film Classification. The film will keep its original PG-13 rating.

The re-release is theatrical only,y and there’s no word on a simultaneous streaming release.

Tickets are on sale now for “Avengers: rs Endgame: Encore” at major theater chains such as AMC Theaters, Regal Cinemas, and Cinemark. The film will open in theaters on September 25, 2026, with some venues screening it a day early on September 24.
