Baby Reindeer’s Real Life Martha Revealed The Secrets About Creator Richard and Described Herself as The ‘Real Victim’

The real-life Martha from Netflix’s newly released Baby Reindeer criticized her on-screen depiction and stated herself as the ‘real victim.’

Ever since, the streaming platform, Netflix and creator Richard Gadd released Baby Reindeer Season 1 on April 11, 2024, it’s started gathering controversies, and it took the whole another level when a woman spoke out to Daily Mail and requested to keep her name and identity out of the screen as she wants to remain anonyms.

The incident happened two weeks after the release of Netflix’s black comedy and psychological thriller drama series, ‘Baby Reindeer.’ Here, the plot of the show revolves around a fictionalized version of Richard (Donny Dunn) and his stalker Martha Scott (Jessica Gunning).

Now, a stalker who allegedly served as Richard’s inspiration behind the show started saying that she has been receiving death threats and abuse. While mentioning her past relationship with the lead cast and creator Richard, she revealed that the storyline is created on the basis of the experience of the creator and his thoughts.

In addition, Gadd has chosen 38-year-old Jessica Gunning to portray Martha, who stalks the lead character, Donny. Further ahead, the woman has also stated, that it was Richard who was actually the one obsessed with her and said, ‘He is using Baby Reindeer to Stalk me Now.’ Not only that, but she also mentioned that ‘He has written a bloody show about me.’

While Netflix billed the show as a true story, the creator, Richard Gadd, stated that he couldn’t reveal the names and exact stories for legal and artistic reasons. He has also asked his followers to stop trying to learn about the Baby’s Reindeer’s real-life characters.

Furthermore, Richard added, “I mean, there are certain protections, you can’t just copy somebody else’s life and name and put it onto television. And obviously, we were very aware that some characters in it are vulnerable people, so you don’t want to make their lives more difficult.”

If you are fond of dark comedy and psychological thriller and have yet to watch the first season of Baby Reindeer, then head to Netflix and binge-watch all the latest episodes of the show.
