8 Movies Like River Wild You Love to Watch

Many adventure and thriller series successfully capture fans’ attention. So, here we’ll discuss eight exciting thriller series like The River Wild that you’ll love to watch.

The River Wild:

The River Wild is a fantastic Adventure Thriller series directed by Curtis Hanson, written by Denis O’Neill, and produced by Lawrence Turman and David Foster. This series adds a terrifying adventure moment that gives viewers goosebumps. Viewers also want to see how the family gets out of this horrible adventure.

So, the series starts with a family taking a few days off from their routine and going on a mini vacation to Montana. While there, they do lots of exciting things, and this time they all decide to go river rafting.

But as they go rafting, a cool vacation suddenly becomes very dangerous when they see a shocking killer with two arms who holds up their security to get out of this unfortunate situation.

1. Surviving the Game:

Surviving the Game is another American action-adventure drama directed by Ernest R. Dickerson and Eric Bernt, and produced by Fred C. Caruso. But Surviving the Game was initially based on the 1924 short story Richard Connell published.

Surviving the Game focuses on a homeless boy in Mason who dreams of a better life in Seattle. Eventually, he decides he can’t achieve this goal living on the streets, so he accepts a position as a hunting guide for the ultra-wealthy.

Once he builds a small cabin in the Pacific Northwest forest, the plot takes an active turn. Here, Surviving the Game and The River Wild parallel each other in terms of adding unique twists to their plot.

2. The Ledge:

Once again, Howard J. Ford directs an adventurous series, The Ledge, which also takes a massive wild turn as it progresses. It follows two very close friends who go climbing but are suddenly separated.

First, he sees how Kelly captures her friend Sophie’s murder on her camera; further, she knows that she is the next target of the four killers.

Later, she tries to escape, but as soon as she goes outside, she thinks she is walking into the same trap the killer has already set for her; now things become more complicated.

3. High Lane:

Like The River Wild and The Ledge, High Lane depicts an enjoyable trip that turns into a dangerous nightmare through Abel Ferry’s adventure trip. Like the others, this series includes thrilling adventure scenes and a psycho killer.

A group of friends decides to do one of Ferry’s wood climbing adventures. However, as they start climbing, they realize something is very wrong, and one by one, many of their friends start disappearing.

As the series progresses, only a few of the original group members remain, and they learn about a psycho killer who is targeting their friends. After learning about the killer, the remaining group members figure out how to escape.

4. Judgment Night:

Judgment Night is another super thriller series that includes a lot of twists and turns; Stephen Hopkins created it. And, like The River Wild, Judgment Night also includes some gratuitous chaos.

In the series, Mike, John, Ray, and Frank decide to see the boxing match taking place in their city that night.

They all want to get there on time, so they take a shorter route through a forested trail. However, we later demonstrate that the group becomes stranded there. In the following episodes, we see them discover a murder scene, which shockingly pushes everyone over the edge.

5. A Lonely Place to Die:

One of my favorite movies of all time is A Lonely Place to Die (2011). Melissa George plays the lead. The movie starts with a group of mountain climbers who, unfortunately, start experiencing the worst of all possible scenarios as they discover a girl who is alive and buried in the highlands by her kidnappers.

As the movie continues, it reveals more of the area’s mysteries and builds an ominous feeling toward the end, which ultimately changes the journeys of the few mountain climbers.

A Lonely Place to Die and The River Wild share the same suspense in the next revolving door, and The Edge shares the same horrible moments in all of its scenes.

6. The Edge:

The movie begins with businessman Charles Mores, his assistant Stephen, and photographer Bob Green, who is taking some time off to travel. They are now in Alaska’s wilderness after their plane crashed. There are dangerous animals there, and they learn that a Kodiak bear has already killed and eaten some of the passengers. The remaining passengers are trying to survive in different ways.

Later on, the friendship of the Kodiak bear’s trainer, Bart, with this trio is established. As the series goes on, the trio’s life also becomes very dangerous. The Edge and The River Wild have similarities in that a sudden event changes their lives.

7. Deliverance:

John Boorman directs Deliverance, another dark adventure series. Four friends decide to go to the Cahulawasee River before it is dammed. On their way there, people in the area start attacking them.

Later on, the four friends also survive the attack and make it back home, only to find that there are a lot of crazy people waiting to kill them outside their homes.

We also see similar things in The River Wild and Deliverance, where the directors make the situations more horrible and extreme as the films go on.

Final Words:

We hope you enjoyed reading this article and found some new thriller series to watch, especially since many of you seem to enjoy series like The River Wild.
