What are PlayON promo codes – and how do you use them?
If you play the West Virginia Lottery online, you may have seen references to promo codes without being sure what they are or where to find them. This guide covers what they do, where they come from, and how to put them to use.
What is a promo code?
A promo code is a short alphanumeric string that you enter in your iPLAY account, the West Virginia Lottery’s official online platform, to activate a specific offer. Past offers have included bonus credits for iNSTANTS games, or to earn PlayON points. The specific offer varies each time a code is issued.
Promo codes are distinct from the points you accumulate through PlayON rewards. Points build up over time through ticket scanning and online play, and you redeem them through the Rewards section. A promo code is a one-time activation tied to a particular promotion.
Where do promo codes come from?
WVL distributes promo codes through four main channels: email newsletters sent to your registered address, push notifications from the PlayON platform, the official WVL social media accounts, and on-site promotional events.
There is no public list of all active codes in one place. To receive them, make sure your account is opted in to email communications through the Communication Preferences section, and turn on push notifications in the WVL app. If you follow WVL’s official social media accounts and have notifications turned on, you will catch codes posted there as well. Promotional events are announced on the WVL News and Events page ahead of time.
How to use a promo code
Log in to your iPLAY account and navigate to the promo code entry section, typically found in the promotions area of your account dashboard. Enter the code exactly as received, including any capitalization or special characters. Confirm the entry and the associated offer is applied to your account.
Codes are time-limited. Most expire within days of issue. Entering them as soon as you receive them avoids missing the window.
PlayON rewards and promo codes working together
PlayON is WVL’s free loyalty program. You are automatically enrolled when you create an iPLAY account. Through PlayON you earn points by scanning retail tickets and by playing draw games and iNSTANTS online. Those points accumulate in your dashboard and can be redeemed for drawing entries and prizes through the Rewards section.
If a code does not work
Check that you have entered it correctly and that it has not expired. Some codes are issued for specific account types only. If a valid code continues to fail, WVL Player Support is available at 833-376-0384.
