Good Morning America Meteorologist Rob Marciano Exits ABC News After 10 Years

Good Morning America’s meteorologist Rob Marciano exits from ABC networks after ten years. A source confirmed that Marciano, who had worked for a decade in the programs World News Tonight and Good Morning America, was fired Tuesday afternoon.

Marciano has been absent from Good Morning America for months because he had been temporarily banned from the studio for misbehavior towards a colleague. But he continued on the weather reports from outside locations.

On April 30, Puck News’ Dylan Byers reported that Marciano was fired due to multiple complaints from the network staff for his behavior. The network representatives were yet to comment on his departure.

When Marciano got the temporary ban from the network, an insider said that he had done something improper and was punished; they still didn’t let him return. However, Marciano and his colleague did not disclose the reason. Another source said at that time that he was dealing with anger management issues and made people feel uncomfortable.

In a conversation with PEOPLE, Swetha Sharma, who has worked at the same network, said that Marciano has a short temper. But many people had positive experiences with him. She also added that his exit would not surprise the people who had worked with him.

Marciano was appointed as senior meteorologist on ABC News in 2014 and continued the weather reporting on Good Morning America, which was previously hosted by Ginger Lee.

Last year, in September, Marciano celebrated his ten years with the network. He posted on his Instagram account that, as a kid, he had always dreamed about working for ABC, and he was excited to continue his journey with the viewers.

Marciano was born in Glenville and had a Bachelor’s degree in meteorology. He is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and holds the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval.

Marciano got attention as a meteorologist and occasional reporter by working for CNN Worldwide in the headquarters of Atlanta. He joined CNN in 2003, and before working there, he served as Chief meteorologist for KATU-TV and 750 KXL News Radio.

In 2012, Marciano joined as a co-anchor for Entertainment Tonight to host a program with Nancy O’Dell. He was appointed to the post when Mark Steines left the show after eight years.  His last hosting of Entertainment Tonight was in August 2014, after he started hosting GMA in September 2014.

The firing news of Marciano came two years after he and his ex-wife, Eryn, filed for divorce after their 11 years of marriage. He said they had been going through a difficult time at that time. He also added that he tried to save the marriage, but sadly, they were divorcing, and now his focus was his kids.
