Travis Kelce Makes his Acting Debut in Ryan Murphy’s FX Series ‘Grotesquerie’

Travis Kelce kicks in to start his first major acting role by joining Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series Grotesquerie. According to reports, he will be cast opposite Niecy Nash Betts, Lesley Manville, and Courtney B. Vance.

Niecy Nash Betts confirmed the news of Travis’s entry by sharing a behind-the-scenes video on May 7. She captioned the video, “This is what happens when WINNERS link up‼️. ” In that video, before showing Travis, Nash Betts asked the viewers, “Guys, guess who I am working with in ‘Grotesquerie’?”.

Then he appeared beside her, wearing a white shirt and a big smile, and said, “Jumping into new territory.” Kelce also confirmed the news by reposting the video in his Instagram story. He wrote, “Steppin into a new world with one of the legends.”

Travis’s character details have yet to be revealed. The plot details are also under the wrap. The series’ production has already begun and is scheduled to release in the fall.

Travis starred in the reality dating series Catching Kelce premiered in 2016. He also would host the 20 episodes of Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity on Amazon Prime Video, a reboot of the game show Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader. He made a cameo appearance in an episode of Moonbase 8 in 2020. He hosted “Saturday Night Live” in March 2023.

Travis co-hosted a New Heights podcast with his brother and former NFL star Jason Kelce. He recently executive produced an independent film ‘My Dead Friend Zoe,’ that premiered at SXSW. Travis will also produce a documentary based on the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, titled ‘King Pleasure.’

Ryan Murphy announced the making of the new series by sharing a teaser on his Instagram in February. The teaser described it as a new horror drama series that will be released this fall. The teaser doesn’t contain any footage; it shows the names of the cast in the series with Nash-Bett’s voice about a crime scene.

Ryan Murphy created and produced many series, including Glee, American Horror Story, American Crime Story, 9-1-1: Lone Star, and Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. His upcoming projects are American Sports Story, a sports anthology television series developed by Stu Zicherman, and Dr. Odyssey.

His psychological thriller series Ratched was canceled after one season in February 2024. The lead actress, Sarah Paulson, confirmed the news.
