Gen V Makers Has No Plans to Recast Chance Perdomo Following the Actor’s Death

The producers of the superhero television series Gen V made a decision to honor Chance Perdomo following his death in March. They posted on Twitter that they would not recast the role of Perdomo by saying no one can replace the actor. They said that the creative team was taking time to alter the storyline before production resumed in May, and they would find a way to honor Perdomo in the upcoming season.

Perdomo debuted his acting career by playing a recurring role in the series Hetty Feather. He gained popularity by playing the role of Ambrose Spellman in the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He was nominated for the British Academy Television Award for his performance in the film Killed by My Debt.

He played the role of Andre Anderson in Gen V, a spin-off series of The Boys. The series became a success on Amazon Prime Video, and less than a month later; it was renewed for a second season. The second season’s production was set to start in April 2024 in Canada. Following the death of Perdomo, the production was put on hold.

Perdomo died in a motorcycle crash in March at the age of 27. Following the news of his death, his co-stars released a statement expressing their sorrow and shock. They said that they would remember the moments with Perdomo. They also wrote, “Rest in peace, dear friend, you will be deeply missed. Love, The Gen V Cast.”

The producers of Gen V also shared a statement to pay tribute to Perdomo. They said he was always charming, smiling, and an incredibly talented performer.

The fans of Perdomo also expressed their condolence through social media and showed their support for his family and loved ones.

The Boys spin-off series Gen V was released on September 29, 2023. The series follows a group of young students with special powers at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, where they compete for the university’s top ranking and a chance to join Vought International’s elite superhero team, The Seven.

Perdomo’s character, Andre Anderson, was a popular student at the university who had the power to manipulate magnetic fields. The other cast members in the series include Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, London Thor, Asa Germann, and Maddie Philips.

Perdomo’s career ended tragically, and the second season has to deal with the question regarding his sudden absence. The writers need to provide a suitable explanation in the series about his disappearance.
