Just after retrieving the amulet as well as fusing it with the Strength Edge, the Rabbit uses it to impale Dante, forming the blade of Sparda, and later finds that Vergil is still conscious.

After he finally completes his intentions, the realm’s obstacle dissolves, and demons begin to destroy Earth. The invasion was stopped at the moment when Dante attempted to use the blade of Sparda to eliminate the Rabbit and restore the obstacle after Mary blew his replica heart, damaging him.

 

At the time Dante asks Mary to assist in a search for Vergil, she intimidates him and later has him imprisoned. After that, Anders gives Baines the device, and Baines murders Anders, soon beginning a conquest of Hell with it.

On the other hand, the horned demon, who identifies himself as Vergil, tries to break into the prison of the Uroboros Corporation and later releases its demon inmates to work for Mundus, who is the ruler of Hell.
