8 Movies Like River Wild You Love to Watch

There are many adventure plus thriller series that succeed in grabbing the attention of their fans. So, here too, we will discuss all eight outstanding thrillers plus adventure series, just like The River Wild, which you all love to watch.

The River Wild:

The River Wild is a fantastic Adventure Thriller series directed by Curtis Hanson, written by Denis O’Neill, and produced by Lawrence Turman and David Foster. The complete series added a terrible adventure moment, giving all its viewers goosebumps. Also, the viewers want to see how the family overcomes this horrible adventure.

So, now the series follows the plotline of a family who takes a few days’ breaks from their routine life and goes out for a mini vacation in Montana; they enjoy many adventurous activities, and now they all select river rafting.

But, as they all go rafting, a super cool vacation suddenly turns into a very hazardous one, where they see a very shocking killer with two arms who hold up their security; to escape from their unfortunate plight.

  • Surviving the Game:

Surviving the Game is again an American action-plus adventure drama directed by Ernest R. Dickerson and Eric Bernt, produced by Fred C. Caruso. But the thing is, Surviving the Game was initially based on the 1924s short that Richard Connell published.

Surviving the Game is the center in Mason, a poor boy living on the street of Seattle. Later he decides to start work to improve his living standard, and therefore, he decides to become a hunting guide for all the wealthiest clients.

And, so, he set up a small cabin between the Pacific Northwest forest, and then the series took a very actionable turn. Also, here we find the similarities between Surviving the Game and The River Wild in the way they added twisted turns into the plot.

  • The Ledge:

The Ledge is again of the adventurous series directed by Howard J. Ford, which takes a massive wild turn as the series progresses. It is about two very close friends who went climbing but suddenly were separated from each other.

Firstly, here we show how Kelly captures her friend Sophie’s murder on her camera; further, she knows that she is the only next target of the four killers.

Later, she tries to escape from that place; but as soon as she goes outside, she thinks she is coming into the same trap the killer already made for her; now the thing becomes more complicated.

Also, the similarities we find here between the River Wild and The Ledge is how an enjoyable trip slowly converted into a dangerous nightmare.

  • High Lane:

Like the River Wild and the Ledge, High Lane is all about the adventure trip created by Abel Ferry. This series too includes thriller adventure scenes, plus also about a psycho killer.

It all starts with a group of friends, who decide to go on one of the wood climbing adventures, but as they start climbing, they find something weird about their climbing, as one after one, many of their group mates start disappearing.

But as the series progress, just a few group member remain safe, and suddenly they come to know about a psycho serial killer who is making plans to kill the people. Thus, after having the complete information regarding the serial killer, all those remaining people start finding ways to escape this terrible adventurous trip.

  • Judgement Night:

Judgment Night is another super thriller series that covers a lot of twists and turns; Stephen Hopkins created it. And, just like the River Wild, the Judgement Night also added some of the gratuitous chaos in this series.

So it starts with a group of four friends, Mike, John, Ray, and Frank, who had made a plan to attend the boxing match which was going to happen in their city at night.

Also, as they all want to reach the place on time, they choose another way which is covered by forest ways, but as the series progresses, we show that the group is stuck in the place; not only that, but they also show a murder, after which everyone was so shocked.

  • A Lonely Place to Die:

A Lonely Place to Die is one of my favorite thriller films, created by Julian Gilbey; it has Melissa George in the lead role. It starts with a very enthusiastic group of a few mountaineers, whose climbing journey suddenly starts becoming horrible, as they show one girl who is already kidnapped and buried is still alive in the Highlands.

As the series progresses, it adds more twists and turns about the place; also, a full of suspense is created at the end of the film, which changes the complete journey of that few mountaineers.

Moreover to that, the only same thing we find between The River Wild and A Lonely Place to Die is the way the creators added a suspense mode in every next moment.

  • The Edge:

The Edge is again a super epic survival thriller of the 1997s, directed by Lee Tamahori, written by David Mamet, and produced by Art Linson. I love the plot of this film, as it includes very horrible moments in the complete movie.

So the film starts with businessman Charles Mores, their assistant Stephen, and the photographer Bob Green who is out for some traveling purposes. Still, suddenly a plane crash lands them in between Alaska’s forest, surrounded by dangerous species. Also, they find that the Kodiak bear already ate many other passengers; now, the remaining are finding ways to survive.

But, as it progresses, Bart the bear, the trainer of the Kodiak bear, makes a friendship with this trio, and as the series progresses, the life of the trio is in a hazardous spot. Also, the similarities here we find between The Edge and The River Wild is how a sudden moment completely changes life.

  • Deliverance:

Deliverance is again a dark adventure series directed by John Boorman. The series is about four friends who decided to visit the Cahulawassee River before it is converted into a dam. But, as they went to that place, the villagers suddenly started attacking them.

Later, as these four finally reached their homes, they found that many madmen stood outside their homes just to kill them.

Thus, here too, we find similarities between the River Wild and Deliverance; that is how the makers change the plot mid-way through the film and convert it into a more horrible situation.
