Britton & The Sting Uplifts and Recharges With REVIVAL residency at Rockwood Music Hall

Britton Smith, last seen on Broadway in Be Additional Chill, has launched a residency at Rockwood Music Hall collectively together with his band Britton & The Sting. Every Sunday for the month of February the band will play Rockwood’s Stage 2 at 9PM.

With sturdy roots in gospel, jazz, funk and storytelling, the funk liberation band fuses an old-school vibe with a model new age groove, with the mission to assist others on their approach to discovering their very personal path, people, and groove.

“I’m dedicated to using the therapeutic properties of music to hunt out my most real self,” says Smith. “Music has given me the map to drawback the chains of my standard non secular upbringing, my relationship to America as a Queer Black man and my relationship to artistry previous reserving jobs. Our intention is to affirm, uplift and recharge ourselves collectively. It would get sweaty.”

Suppose Southern Church tent revival meets Coachella. Britton & The Sting’s EP, Keep at Nublu, captures their essence of radical neighborhood and could also be found on all music platforms. Their first single “Burn,” was featured in Paper Journal’s “Prime 10 Bops to Take heed to.”

Alongside together with his effectivity occupation, Smith makes use of his artistry in laws and protection areas as a Regulation Lecturer at Columbia Regulation School and as President and Co-founder of the Broadway Advocacy Coalition.
